Payment Options & Pricing

1.About Promo Code

Promo codes are codes shared for discounts for specific promotions. To activate your discount, you would need to enter the code before requesting a ride. This are the steps to activate the promo code:

  • Tap on Promotions in the Main menu (top left corner)
  • Enter the promo code
  • Tap Apply

Also remember that:

  • If the price is higher than the value of the promo code, you will be charged the additional cost
  • Apart from specific campaign codes, if the cost of your trip is less than the value of the promo code, the unused balance cannot be applied for future use
  • A promo code given for a ride in a particular city cannot be applied in another city

2.Earning Free Rides

You can earn free rides by inviting your friends to sign up and ride with Tripgik. To see your invite code, just tap FREE RIDES in the app menu (top left corner).

When your friends sign up with your invite code, their first ride will be free. Once a friend has ridden with Tripgik, your next ride worth NGN 500 will be off.

You can share your code by tapping Invite Friends and selecting one of the options available. These include text, email, sharing on social media or copying your personal invite code.

3.Paying With Cash

Tripgik accept only cash payment in Lagos. When a trip ends, you pay with cash. A receipt is emailed to you, and your account's trip history is updated with details about the route and fare.

You can pay the driver when the trip ends exactly what you see on your receipt. You can choose to tip but at your discretion.

4. Fare Higher Than Expected

Tripgik is designed to provide fare estimate before your trip provided the pick up and destination is available. However, if the final price after the trip is not as estimated, it could be because of:

  • Unexpected traffic delays
  • Driver's device had GPS/network issues
  • Parking/airport/toll fees were added to the price
  • Driver took a route different from the route estimated by our system.

If you have further concerns regarding the final price, please contact our Support Team, and we will assist you.

5. Payment Method

Tripgik accepts only cash payment method for rides. Cash Payments are the default payment method in Nigeria. We are rolling out another payment method soon.

6. Explaining Dynamic Pricing

Sometimes the demand for rides is higher than the number of available drivers (e.g. peak hours, large-scale events, extreme weather conditions, etc.), we increase our rates to encourage drivers to get on the road.

As such, we can be sure that as many people as possible will get the ride they need.

Guide To Using Tripgik

1.Lost an Item

If you have left an item in a ride that happened in the last 24 hours, you can contact the driver to inquire and arrange a delivery. Your can check your previous ride.
If more than 24 hours have passed, please contact our Support Team. Share the details about the ride and the lost item and we will follow up.

2. How to Identify Driver and Vehicle

To identify your ride, simply tap the bar that includes the driver’s name, photo, and vehicle. This displays a photo of your driver along with the vehicle's make, model, and license plate number.

When you see your driver's vehicle at your pickup location, confirm that the license plate number displayed in your app matches the actual vehicle. Drivers will often ask your name before starting the trip.

3. Do Riders Pay Tolls or Surcharges

Your trip might pass a place that require toll payment, surcharges, parking or other fees. These charges are automatically added to your trip fare.

4. Technical Issue

If you are experiencing any troubles when ordering or during a ride, please check if the app needs update if not, restart your phone or reinstall the app.
If the problem persists, please contact our Support Team for a solution.

5. Rating a Driver

Rating on Tripgik can be done only once when you receive the prompt at the end of your trip. One Star means poor service and Five star means excellent service. You can also drop a comment to tell us more on the trip experience.

6. Requesting a Ride

To request a ride on Tripgik just enter your destination, confirm ride and confirm your pick up location that’s it. Reliable and real time rides can only be found on Tripgik. Remember to rate your driver and drop a comment to help us improve your next ride experience with Tripgik

7. Getting Free Rides

You can earn free rides by inviting your friends to sign up and ride with Tripgik. To see your invite code, just tap FREE RIDES in the app menu (top left corner).

8. Getting a Trip Receipt

Tripgik automatically send a receipt to the email address on your account after a trip ends. If you aren’t receiving receipts, check the spam or junk folder of this email address. You can review your email address on your account profile and update it.

9. Getting a Trip Receipt

Tripgik calculates your fare upfront before your ride. The fares include some or all of this:

  • Base fare (booking fee + initial fare)
  • Rates for estimated time
  • Rates for distance of route
  • The current demand for rides in the area
  • Any applicable surcharges, fees, and tolls

You'll always get a receipt for any trip fare. If your fare is different than the upfront fare you agreed to, your receipt will explain why.

10. Sharing ETA

Your Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) can be shared with friends and family. That way they can see your trip in real-time on the map. You can see it when your trip starts.

11. Driver Misconduct

Tripgik expects a high standard of professionalism from our driver-partners. We deeply apologize if you had experienced a ride that was below this standard.

It is against our policy for drivers to drink, smoke, eat, violate traffic regulations and be impolite or disrespectful. Please let us know if you come across such behavior or action from our driver-partners and we will enact the appropriate measure. Further, you can rate the driver and comment.

12. Can I Tip My Driver

Tripgik app does not include a tip when billing you for a trip fare. However, if you generously feel like appreciating the driver you can do that at your discretion.

13. Downloading Rider App

To have a mobile Tripgik experience you first need the mobile app. Just head to your app store or google play store and download for your device.

Once downloaded, sign up and you’re just a tap away to experience a quality ride with Tripgik.

14. Reporting an Accident

Tripgik works to make each ride a splendid memory. However, you may not have that experience and we deeply apologise for any unpleasant incidents that you might have.

If you are a victim of any unsafe or distressful situation please contact our support team and you will receive utmost priority. If our driver was reckless or aggressive please attach as much evidence you have and we assure you it will be dealt with seriously.

My Account

1.Unblocking Your Account

Your account might be blocked because of multiple pending payments, abusing the invite a friend code sharing or suspected of using false email address.
Please contact our support team to clarify the issue and guide you to a resolve.

2.My Personal Invite Code

Tripgik provides every rider with a unique invite code. It is generated automatically and cannot be changed. Access your code by tapping "Free Rides" in the settings section of the app.

Share your invite code with friends to get free rides when they take their first ride with Tripgik.

3.Changing Your Email

To update your contact information is easy. Tap on your profile and edit your email then update it. That’s it.

4.Changing Your Phone Number

Every rider has a unique phone number that cannot be changed but if you want a different account you have to create a new one with a unique phone number.

5. Updating or Saving Your Addresses

Your can edit or add new home address, work address or favorite places. Go to your profile and add. It will be among your suggested location when you want to go places.

6. Am Not Receiving Receipts or Updates

Please check if your email address is correct. Check your spam folder and add Tripgik as your contact if the mail lands on your junk or spam folder.

7. Deleting Your Account

First, can we make you stay? Please let us know so we better our service and have you remain on the platform.

If you decide to go however, contact our support team to delete your account. Once deleted, you will not be able to restore it. As such, promotions and offers attached to that account is permanently gone.

8. Sign up to Drive with Tripgik

You can sign up to drive with your Tripgik rider app.

As a driver-partner, you'll receive ride requests with your driver app. Driving your own vehicle, you'll meet riders at their pickup locations and drive them to their destinations around the city.

Your driver app also keeps track of your trip fares and payouts.

Payments & Earnings

1.How Fares are Calculated

At the end of the trip you see a fare receipt. Its calculated by taking into account:

  • Base fare (booking fee + initial fare): the price for pickup
  • Time: from start to end of a trip
  • Distance: miles or kilometers of route
  • Surge pricing (if applicable)
  • Tolls and other fees (if applicable)

Your payment for the trip is calculated as: ((base fare + time rate + distance rate) * surge multiplier) - Tripgik fee + booking fee, tolls and other fees.

2. How is My Payment Calculated

Tripgik sends invoice daily to you to make remittance after the day’s work. Your total payment is calculated by adding all:

  • Trip fares (including surge pricing)
  • Promotions (where applicable)
  • Tolls

And subtracting any:

  • Tripgik fees
  • Booking fee

You pay only what is subtracted and the rest is yours.

3. How Do I Clear My Invoice

Tripgik calculates payments on a daily cycle, which begins at 00:00 new day and ends 00:00 the next day. You receive your invoice in your mailbox from 8am - 10am. You are expected to clear them before next day circle begins.

Payments are made with card so you should have fund on your card so to make the payment. Please note that any unpaid invoice that last more than 48 hrs will restrict your account from receiving trips until it is cleared.

4. Rider Paid Less or Did Not Pay

Tripgik accepts only cash payment. Drivers are responsible for collecting cash from riders for cash-paid rides.

Ask the rider politely for cash payment and If a rider refuses to pay do not confirm the price and report the problem to Tripgik support team on app.

5. How to Check My Earnings

Use your Tripgik app to track your payments by week, day, or trip. Select the Earnings Tab to get started.

Earnings displayed in your app are estimated net fares. These are an estimate of the fare earnings you will take home after the Tripgik service fee and any other applicable fees have been charged and paid.

6. Problem With Price

Due to network errors, using a non-recommended device, payment, and other issues, you may experience a problem with your trip price. When there is an issue with a price, end the trip and make sure not to confirm the price then send a report through your help section by contacting Support Team

7. Problem With Price

Tripgik charges drivers using the app the Tripgik fee of 10% plus other fees applicable of each trip fare. If surge pricing applies to a trip, the Tripgik Fee percentage is also deducted from the surge amount.

8. How are Tolls Paid

Riders are charged for tolls and other surcharges while in your car for a trip. You make the payment while on trip and it will be added to their fare and you’ll be reimbursed.

Using Tripgik

1. Driving With a Rider

You can start a ride when you pick up the rider to the destination on your app. You can use the google map to navigate to destination or ask the rider for a prefered route and end the trip when you arrive.

2. Rider Misconduct

Please let us know if your rider behaved inappropriately. Your detailed feedback is essential and would help us follow up with the rider to take actions where necessary.
Don’t hesitate to inform us If you were a victim of a crime carried out by a rider or you were in a dangerous situation, please contact our Support Team

3. Tips to Get More Rides

To ensure flow of ride request try and drive though busy areas while online during morning and evening period during workdays and anytime during the weekends.

4. Contacting a Rider

You can contact a rider after you have a matching ride request accepted. Click on the rider image to reveal the phone number to call or simply chat them up.

5. Waiting For a Rider

When you arrive the rider pick up location, you can call the rider after 3-5 minutes of waiting. If the rider need more time, you can request to start the trip while you wait, if the rider refuses, you can choose to wait or inform the driver you can’t wait any longer.

6. Rider Lost an Item

If a rider forgets an item in your vehicle you can contact Tripgik and take the lost item to the office within 24 hours or arrange a return with a rider at no charge. Your professionalism is deeply appreciated.

8. Getting a Trip Request

When you’re ready to receive a ride request from your vehicle go online and accept the ride request within 15 seconds of alert.

9. Cancelling a Trip

Our Riders depend on a reliable pick up from our drivers, if you can’t use the cancel button on the accepted request and provide reasons.

10. Ending a Trip

Your trip has ended when you have arrived at the riders destination. To end it click on the end trip button on app.

Remember to request the rider if he is ready to exit politely from your vehicle before you end your trip.

My Account

1. Becoming a Driver-Partner

To start driving with Tripgik you need:

  • Meet the legal age requirement
  • Clean criminal record
  • Vehicle registration
  • Valid Driver license
  • Vehicle requirements
  • Proof of insurance

Once you have those, just sign up at the at the drive section of the website and we will email you the next step.

2. Updating Contact Information

Please remember to check that your phone number, email and bank details are always correct. Should you need help, please contact our support team.

3. Adding Multiple Cars

You can add multiple cars but only one can be active. To do that head to the vehicle profile of your account tab and add.

4. Resetting Your Password

When you register, you receive a default temporary password to login with. You can change it to your personal password.

Go to your profile section to change your password.

5. Reasons For Blocking Your Account

Your accounts might be blocked temporarily or permanently depending on the issue. Your account can be block due to misconduct, impersonation, suspicious activities or low rating.

We want excellent service and reliable driver-partners. If your account is blocked please contact our support team to lead you to a solution.

6. How to Improve My Ratings

Just be nice to riders, treat them well. Be a professional, be friendly and always ready to help and make them comfortable. You will definitely get a good rating if you’re loved!

7. I Can’t Sign in

If you’re unable to sign in, use the reset my password link to have your password reset. If it didn’t work, contact our Support Team.

8. Uploading Documents

Make sure you submit clear image of your vehicle papers, driver license and other relevant documents as blurry documents are not accepted and will make you not to go online.
