One of ours in South Dublin

Today we wanted to show you a reconditioned stairlift we installed in Blackrock, South Dublin. This particular model is the popular Stannah 260 Curved Stairlift, which was provided with a new made-to-measure rail for this staircase. The chair? A Starla, which, though pre-owned, was checked, tried, tested and signed off by Stannah’s own technicians, ready to keep doing its job. Extras? It has those too – a powered swivel so that it turns at the top of the stairs at the push of a button, and an automatic footrest that folds up and down at the push of another. No bending, stretching, twisting or lifting required.

A little unorthodox, this staircase needed to be carefully measured to ensure the rails were correctly moulded to the exact angles. Once measured, the floorplan was sent off to the Stannah rail factory, where the new rail was built from scratch while the chair was carefully tested before being signed off as safe-as-can-be by Stannah technicians.

The next step? Installation by our engineers. Trained by the manufacturers themselves, we ensure they know the ins and outs of the process and adhere to safety specifications to the letter. We’re not taking any risks when it comes to your wellbeing in your own home, and that means every screw is double-checked, every piece of equipment is run and inspected, and you’re shown how it all works before our installers even think about leaving your home.

Unsure about trying your stairlift out? Take your time. There are a few things you need to know about how it works, so when it’s all set up and ready to go, our Access Stairlifts technicians will walk you through it. Seat and footrest down? Safely seated? Make sure your safety belt is clicked into place, or the stairlift won’t move an inch. Arms not fully down? That’ll stop it from moving too. Now, up you go. That’s all there is to it! No more achy knees, perilous spins or trying to juggle trays or bags as you hold on tightly to the bannister. Reached the top? Press the button to swivel that chair around, and step straight onto the landing, safe in the knowledge the chair is behind you, blocking the stairs should you feel unsteady on your feet.

We firmly believe that no one should see their stairs as an obstacle, so here at Access Stairlifts, we want to ensure as many people as possible have access to the stairlift they need to get around their home safely and comfortably.
